Infectious Diseases

Infection Alert!

If you are unwell and think you could have an infectious illness, please ring the surgery to discuss.

If you are infectious, coming down to the surgery will increase the chances of spreading the disease.

It may be more appropriate for you to have a telephone appointment with the duty nurse or doctor.

If the nurse or dr. feels that you need to come to the surgery to be seen, when you arrive, ask to be put into a side room not the general waiting room.

Examples of infections that are easily passed on include:-

Measles, mumps, chicken pox, shingles, influenza, diarrhoea and vomiting. And many more.

EBOLA RISK – if you are unwell with fever and a traveller within 1 month of returning from Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone or Nigeria , you must inform our staff on the telephone.
